"If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, 'From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water'". John 7:37,38 |

A Plan For Devotional Bible Study
2. Read through the day?s passage prayerfully, ask God to anoint your spirit while you read. Follow a reading plan which takes you through a book, starting each day where you left off the day before. Don?t bite off more than you can chew, or there won?t be enough time for meditation. Ten to fifteen verses is usually plenty, depending on the type of book. Try to find the natural breaks in the book (such as a paragraph), and stick to one of these. Some Bibles highlight the verse number indicating a new paragraph.
3. Record the Scripture reference, date and title of the passage in a notebook.
4. List the important facts in order, from the passage. The act of having to recognize and note these down help you understand what you read.
5. Look at yesterday?s passage. Can you see any connection between what you read before and today? A better discernment of the passage is gained when you link the two together. Jot this relationship down. If you don?t see a connection don?t worry about it.
6. Write a short summary of the passage.
7. How does this message relate to your life? Write down how the message should affect your thoughts or actions.
8. Humbly ask God to make each days lesson, real in your life.
May God bless your time of seeking Him.
--- Scott McCrae
