The bigger the object the more force is needed to get it moving. Take cars for instance. Their weight requires a lot of force to budge them. To get the car moving a battery is needed to start the engine. The motor propels it forward. Gas is keeps the engine running. More gas is required for acceleration. Equipment, manufacturing and transportation are needed to supply gas to the gas station. Work is done to make money to buy the gas and pay the car payments.
All this effort is expended for travel. The result is worth the effort. Just as nothing in the natural realm will change without outside action, so our spiritual life is stagnant without belief and faith.
Prayer, worship, Bible study and meditation bring us close to Jesus. These actions give us the opportunity to believe God. It is this belief and faith that changes the course of our life and others.
Belief and faith is like the battery and perseverance in our faith is like the gas. It is the perseverance in faith that will gain the victory. We overcome by faith service and perseverance. (Rev.l2:l 1)
Perseverance is the work of faith. "Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord" (1 Cor. 15:58) "And you will be hated by all on account of My name, but the one who endures to the end he shall be saved." (Mark 13:13) "If you abide in My Word - hold fast to My teachings and live in accordance with them - you are truly My disciples. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." (John 8:31,32 Amp.) "And let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we shall reap if we do not grow weary." (Gal. 6:9) "Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised." (Heb. 10:35,36)
God has called us to act on our world for His glory. If we do nothing, things will continue to get worse. If we act on what the Lord has put in our hearts, there will be improvement. At first there is slow improvement just as it takes a lot of effort to get something moving, but once it's moving it will be easier to go faster. It is God's will to remain faithful in your calling. If you remain faithful God will answer your prayers. (John 15:16) If we have the answers to the prayers that we have asked, we will succeed in what God is calling us to do.
Keep pushing for change. It will come, and it will accelerate.
